The team behind the CareHub
People who have built this market before. They combined healthcare experience with buy-and-build expertise, creating a discipline in which both worlds reinforce each other.
Frans van den BergChief Executive Officer & Board MemberMSc Biomedical Sciences (Leiden University, 1989–1994) and Corporate MBA in Strategy and Economics through an international consortium (Chicago Booth, Columbia, Stanford, London Business School, Carnegie Mellon — 2003–2004). Seasoned life sciences executive and entrepreneur; operating independently at executive and board level since January 2014.
CEO of Lead Pharma since 2017, the Dutch biotech company developing innovative small-molecule therapeutics for oncology and autoimmune diseases — in April 2026 he guided the asset acquisition of Lead Pharma by 819 Capital Partners, ensuring continuity of operations and the R&D pipeline. Since April 2026 also Venture Partner at 819 Capital Partners (Deventer) and CEO of PacingCure (Amsterdam).
At PCD CareHub, Frans has served as CEO and Board Member since June 2025. His expertise spans Pharma, BioTech, MedTech, Digital Health, M&A, Venture Capital, and Private Equity — with deep specialization in oncology, immunology, and metabolic disease. He drives deal flow and strategic partnerships, with a sharp eye for companies that fit within the CareHub ecosystem. His philosophy: invest not to exit, but to build long-term value for healthcare, entrepreneurs, and capital providers alike.
Frans is a regular speaker and participant at BIO-Europe, LSX Europe, and the Sachs European Life Sciences CEO Forum — venues where he represents PCD CareHub and continues to expand the European healthtech network. His network within the European life sciences sector — built over decades in board, investment, and operational roles — is a key driver of the buy-and-build strategy.
Niels RoestChairman of the Board & Chief AI & Innovation OfficerFormer special operator with Defense and Police — a background in which every decision carries weight and technology serves as a tool while human judgment remains decisive. That conviction runs as a common thread through his work: technology should free people, not replace them.
Pedagogical Didactic Certificate at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (2023–2025) and Digital Marketing at Growth Tribe (2022–2023). Certified on the Anthropic AI Fluency Framework & Foundations and Claude Cowork (March 2026).
Previously a serial entrepreneur: Founder of RevalidatieSucces (2014–2018, Entrepreneur of the Year 2017), Unlimited You (2020–2021, executive leadership programs based on Special Forces methodology), and Unlimited Mind (2021–2024, training institute for public safety and law enforcement).
At PCD CareHub since November 2025 as Chief AI & Innovation Officer and since January 2026 as Chairman of the Board. He is building pcdOS — the AI platform underpinning the CareHub ecosystem — and established the PCD Investor Portal (AFM-compliant, KYC/AML, GDPR-compliant data export, audit log).
As Chairman he safeguards the strategic direction of the ecosystem; as CAIO he is responsible for the AI platform used by portfolio companies — from prompt engineering to the deployment of AI agents in healthcare workflows. His principle: deploy AI where it adds value, maintain human oversight where it matters.
Niels publishes insights on AI in healthcare on the PCD CareHub platform, with emphasis on explainability and data sovereignty. He represents PCD CareHub at conferences and in public discussions. Lives and works in Breda and volunteers with Natuurmonumenten.
Patrick DinkelaCo-Founder, Chief Operating Officer & Vice-ChairmanMechanical engineer (HAN University of Applied Sciences, 1998–2002) and entrepreneur with more than 35 years of experience in engineering and healthcare. Patrick combines deep technical expertise from his 15+ years as a Technician at KLM Engine Services (2006–2021) with entrepreneurship as co-owner of Full History Cars (2015–2023).
Co-founder of PCD Investment Partners (October 2023) and since 2025 also statutory director of DK Synergie BV. In 2023 he completed Dan Peña's Quantum Leap Advantage Methodology — focused on M&A and buy-and-build in an international context.
At PCD CareHub he is responsible for operational execution, portfolio collaboration, and buy-and-build execution. He is building an ecosystem in which healthcare technology companies scale faster together — not by standardizing them, but by providing shared infrastructure (compliance, integration, financial reporting) so that each portfolio company can focus on its own strengths.
Patrick manages day-to-day engagement with portfolio founders and serves as the link between strategic vision and execution. His pragmatic style — 'what works on a Monday morning?' — provides a counterbalance in a sector that easily becomes entangled in conceptual work. As Vice-Chairman he deputizes for the Chairman on the board where required and maintains the governance discipline of PCD CareHub at the appropriate level, with monthly board meetings and clear mandates.
Coby DinkelaCo-Founder & Chief Communication OfficerInnovative leader with a rare three-way perspective on healthcare: she knows the sector as a healthcare professional, as a patient from personal experience, and from an earlier career in complex manufacturing environments where systems, processes, and collaboration had to operate efficiently. That combination — firsthand clinical knowledge paired with process-oriented thinking from an industrial background — is what makes her distinctive for PCD CareHub.
Co-founder of PCD Investment Partners (October 2023) and responsible for communication strategy, external positioning, and stakeholder relations within the ecosystem. Coby has witnessed firsthand how healthcare professionals struggle with complexity and how poorly healthcare technology is often positioned; she now applies that insight to keep PCD CareHub's message clear and human.
Her work: positioning the PCD CareHub story in a way that resonates with healthcare organizations, partners, and public stakeholders — not as a software sale, but as an ecosystem approach. She leads the communications and content team, maintains brand consistency across all channels, and builds media and sector relationships with industry associations, trade press, and public institutions.
Her approach is focused on sustainable, credible communication — not one-shot campaigns but a consistent message that builds trust over years. Coby publishes regularly on LinkedIn about digitalization, workload pressure, AI in healthcare, and the need for an ecosystem approach rather than standalone innovations; she serves as PCD CareHub's spokesperson in public discussions and with the press.
Frank van AntwerpenChief Financial OfficerRegistered Accountant (RA) trained through NIVRA (1978–1990) and additionally certified as Public Sector Supervisory Director through ERLY (2019). Frank brings decades of experience in Corporate Finance, governance, restructuring, and M&A — from substantial project financing to the acquisition and divestiture of companies and large real estate transactions.
Since 2020 he has been a Partner at CFO Netwerk and active as Interim CFO for various organizations. He served as CFO at energy company NieuweStroom in Maastricht (2022–2025), Chairman of the Supervisory Board at 4plus Holding (2022–2023), and has been Interim CFO at Daelmans Vastgoed Groep since January 2026.
At PCD CareHub he ensures financial discipline and supports the portfolio with private-equity-grade financial engineering, reporting, and capital structuring. Frank ensures that the financial architecture of the ecosystem functions across multiple levels simultaneously: holding company, portfolio company, and shared services.
For portfolio companies this means access to financial capabilities they rarely possess as independent scale-ups — from working capital management to transaction modeling. For PCD CareHub as a whole it means: clear financial reporting, audit readiness, and investor-grade due diligence documentation.
In addition, Frank leads the capital structuring process for further ecosystem growth and serves as the primary point of contact for financiers, banks, and institutional relationships. Frank is based in Eindhoven and speaks Dutch, English, and German.
Kevin de RooijLegal DirectorMaster's degree in Law and Economics at Utrecht University (1997–2004), with additional specialization in Sports Law through Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (2021–2022).
Kevin began his legal career at ING as an attorney (2009–2010), taught Law & Economics at master's level at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam for four years (2007–2012), served as Senior Attorney at Certa Legal (2011–2013) — a full-service firm serving financial institutions, technology, media, and healthcare sectors — and as Partner at Labré advocaten (2013–2015). Since May 2015 he has been Founding Partner of Hendrix Law, a firm he operates from the Randstad region.
His specializations: commercial contracts, corporate litigation, partnerships and joint ventures, M&A and (re)structuring, corporate governance, healthcare, and sports law.
At PCD CareHub he oversees the legal structure, transaction work, and compliance — for both the holding company and the portfolio. Kevin operates at the intersection of M&A (acquisition structures, share purchase agreements, founder rollovers) and healthcare-specific compliance (GDPR, NEN 7510, data processing agreements in a multi-tenant context, EHDS readiness). For portfolio companies this means a legal infrastructure that is scalable — not ad-hoc contracts for each new client, but template-based work with clear deviation procedures.
Kevin also coordinates board governance: notices, resolution logs, articles of association and shareholders' agreements, and the legal implementation of strategic decisions. His experience advising mid-sized international enterprises — both as trusted advisor and as in-house counsel — translates into an approach that positions legal clarity as an enabler of speed, not a constraint.
